Organ
Donation Campaign:
there is lack of
organs for transplant from black & minority ethnic communities (Baroness
Barker Hansard Column 1620 21st July 2005), and black
people are more likely to develop kidney failure due to high
prevalence of diabetes and high blood pressure, but they are less
likely to receive organ transplant due to shortage of organ donors
from minority ethnic communities. For
project details, please click here
COMPLETED PROJECTS
Repositioning AFREKID: We recently
carried out a consultation on AFREKID's direction since its
formation two and a half years ago. Members would like AFREKID
to change its position to reflect its work in Africa and the UK.
Some of the recommendations have been adopted. Click
here for the consultation report.
